The Beck’s Green Box project is a global fund established to inspire, celebrate and financially support independent talent in art, design, music and fashion. The beer brand launched what it billed to be the world’s largest “global cultural commissioning project” involving solely augmented-reality enabled works commissioned by renowned artists.
We were delighted to play a part in this global initiative working with a number of the UK’s chosen artists to realise their vision in Augmented Reality. The premise of the installations is explained in the promo film below.
Becks planted green boxes in major cities across the US, UK and Europe. When captured with the special app, viewers were able to see the animated artwork. Working closely with the artists and the creative team at Mother, who forged the campaign, we interpreted the artists sculptures into 3D augmented reality animations that we built in Unity and created the AR app from which to view the artworks.
