Job Opportunity – Business Development Manager

Flipbook studio is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary production company, focused on providing VFX and CG animation services to the Broadcast TV, film, advertising and video games industries. Formed in Manchester in 2010, the studio is known for its varied portfolio of work, including high-concept episodic drama series, video games cinematics and innovative brand campaigns delivered across multiple channels and platforms. The studio strives to push the envelope and bring a unique creative angle to all our projects, with the valued input of our team of artists, producers, developers and directors.

With year-on-year growth and an increase in regional production projects, the studio is looking for a Business Development Manager to join the team to help continue the company’s growth and increase in the UK VFX and animation industries. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives to generate and engage with business partners to build new business for the company. They will have a proven track record in business development within the VFX and/or animation industry, working across either episodic TV, film or advertising productions. They might be someone who has worked previously as a VFX or animation producer, or someone who has done sales for a post-production company.

This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of one of the fastest-growing and creative CGI/VFX studios outside of London. This is a full-time position with the option of either working in our Manchester studio or remotely at home.

Requirements:

• Identify partnership opportunities
• Develop new relationships in an effort to grow business and aid company expansion
• Think critically when planning to ensure project success
• Maintain existing business
• Be proactive with the client and anticipate their needs
• Be an ambassador for the brand and be knowledgeable of the history, current projects, key executives and creatives and other specialised services
• Manage the pitching and bidding process
• At least 3 years experience in a similar business development role within VFX or animation industries
• A good list of contacts and first-hand relationships with key decision-making TV producers, creatives, producers and directors
• A good understanding of the VFX/animation process with an ability to present reels and services within this field
• Excellent presentation style, written English and communication skills
• A passion for either the TV and film industry and/or the Advertising industry and other creative industries, with an awareness of who is making the best work and the confidence to approach them as potential new clients

Qualifications:

• Ideally possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven knowledge and execution of successful business development strategies
• Focused and goal-oriented
